On Friday, October 23, 2026, Insight Vision Optometry, Las Vegas is hosting an in-person continuing education evening for eye care professionals: Precision Vision Care: High-Order Aberrations & Myopia Double Header.
It’s two COPE-accredited courses in one evening, taught by two of our own doctors, on two topics that come up in our exam rooms every week: patients whose irregular corneas leave them seeing poorly even in the “right” prescription, and children whose myopia keeps climbing year after year.

Higher-order aberrations are the reason some patients can’t reach 20/20 no matter how carefully they’re refracted. Glasses and standard soft lenses correct sphere and cylinder. They don’t correct the irregular optics of a cornea affected by keratoconus, post-surgical changes, or scarring, and those patients often end up told that “this is as good as it gets.”
This course works through the problem from the ground up:
This is the clinical territory Insight Vision Optometry, Las Vegas was built on. Our practice began as a clinic devoted entirely to custom contact lenses, and our doctors fit scleral lenses and other specialty designs for keratoconus and irregular corneas every day.
Myopia is a disease, not just a refractive error. In this course, Dr. Nathan Schramm covers the epidemiology and risk factors behind rising childhood myopia, the IMI framework for identifying pre-myopic and at-risk children, and a head-to-head comparison of current myopia control interventions, including low-dose atropine, orthokeratology, DIMS spectacle lenses, and multifocal soft contact lenses.
It’s a practical session aimed at the questions that matter in the exam room: which children to treat, when to start, and how to choose between the options for the child in front of you. If you’d like background before the evening, we keep a running review of the scientific research on myopia management, and we’ve written about how the main myopia control options compare.
Dr. Stephanie Woo, OD, FAAO, FSLS, founder of Insight Vision Optometry, Las Vegas, is cornea and contact lens residency trained with extensive orthokeratology and myopia control experience. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Society, a past President of the Scleral Lens Education Society, an Adjunct Professor at Midwestern University College of Optometry, and was named Nevada Optometric Association Educator of the Year in 2023.
Dr. Nathan Schramm, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA is a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, one of roughly 300 worldwide, and a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association, with advisory board roles in the myopia space and long experience in orthokeratology.
This evening is designed for optometrists and eye care professionals in the Las Vegas area who want to:
This event is for eye care professionals, but the topics are ones our patients live with. If you or your child has been told your vision “can’t get any better,” or your child’s prescription keeps going up, those are exactly the cases our doctors see every day.
