A Global Journey in
Vision Science

Dr. Chen completed a medical degree and a Master’s degree in China, earned a PhD with “Sobresaliente cum laude” honors in Spain, and then completed post-doctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine before earning her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She has successfully founded private clinics in both the USA and China.

Passion for Clinical Research & Innovation

Dr. Chen is deeply involved in advancing eye care. She has participated in several FDA clinical trials for devices and drugs, including myopia control and anterior ocular diseases like dry eye and crosslinking, serving as a principal investigator. She also works as a medical director to conduct eye products R&D.

Education and Fellowship

Dr. Chen graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2010 with a Doctor of Optometry degree (Beta Sigma Kappa honors).

Prior to that, she earned a PhD from the University of Alcalá de Henares in Spain and had already completed a medical degree and a Master’s degree in China.

She holds active licenses with the California and Texas Boards of Optometry and holds Clinical Investigator Certification (CIC & GCP).

Education And
Fellowship

Doctor of Optometry degree at SCCO. He was extra nerdy and graduated summa cum laude which made his mom very proud. Undergrad was at UCLA with a full-ride scholarship (Regents/Alumni/+12 others) so he actually made money going to school. Scleral lens society. This means that if you need a contact lens and have keratoconus, corneal transplants, or anything wrong with your cornea – he’s the guy for you.

Dr. Chen is highly active in professional societies. She has served as a board member and treasurer of the International Society of Dacryology and is a founder member of the Tear Film Association.

Currently, she serves as a board member and VP of ANACEP (Alliance North American Chinese Eye Care Professionals) and also the VP of IAOI (International Alliance of Ophthalmic Innovation).
