Remove the hybrid lens from its case and rinse it with preservative-free saline. Place one drop of saline into the bowl of the lens. Then balance the lens on the tip of your index finger, soft skirt side down, rigid dome facing up. The lens should sit like a small bowl on your fingertip. Make sure the lens is right-side up. The edges of the soft skirt should curve upward, not flare outward.
Use the middle finger of your other hand to hold your upper lid firmly against your brow bone. Use the middle finger of the hand holding the lens to pull your lower lid down. Look straight ahead into your mirror. Bring the lens toward your eye steadily and place it directly onto your cornea. Try not to blink until the lens makes contact.
Once the lens is on your eye, release your lower lid first, then your upper lid slowly. Blink gently a few times. The soft skirt should settle smoothly around the rigid center. If your vision is clear and the lens feels comfortable, you are set. If things look hazy, there may be an air bubble under the lens. Remove the lens, refill the bowl with saline, and try again.
